- With a quick, painless finger scan, Prysm iO™ measures carotenoid levels in your skin—an important biomarker of your antioxidant health. Carotenoids, found in fruits, vegetables, and supplements, help protect your body by neutralising harmful free radicals.
With each scan, you’ll receive your Prysm Score, so you’ll know if your wellness routine is having an impact. Regular assessments allow you to track changes over time, adjusting your diet, supplementation, and lifestyle.
- Achieving better health isn’t just about good intentions—it’s about real progress. Prysm iO™ measures your carotenoid levels to help motivate you to make smarter wellness choices. Prysm iO™ is your trusted wellness partner, helping you understand your nutritional well-being with confidence.
- Carotenoids are powerful antioxidants found in colourful fruits and vegetables, giving them their red, orange, and yellow hues. These nutrients strengthen your immune system, support eye and skin health, and help reduce oxidative damage in the body. Measuring carotenoid levels provides a key insight into your antioxidant status, allowing you to track and improve your nutritional wellness with targeted nutrition and supplements.
- Antioxidants help protect your cells from oxidative stress, a natural process caused by free radicals from pollution, UV exposure, poor diet, and stress. Over time, oxidative stress can contribute to ageing and various health concerns, including weakened immunity, inflammation, and cellular damage. By incorporating antioxidant-rich foods and supplements into your routine, you can support heart health, brain function, skin vitality, and overall well-being.
- You can measure your skin carotenoid levels, which act as an indicator of overall antioxidant status, via your Prysm Score. This score helps you understand how well your body is absorbing antioxidants from SCS products. To improve your score, focus on eating a variety of colourful, antioxidant-rich foods, taking high-quality SCS-certified Pharmanex supplements like LifePak®, ageLOC® Y-Span® and G3, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise, sleep, and stress management.
With continuous tracking and targeted insights, you can monitor your antioxidant health and learn how to better defend your body from oxidative stress.
- Scan variance can occur when scanning different fingers, placing the finger incorrectly, pressing too firmly or too lightly, or using a finger that hasn't been recently washed, For consistent tracking, it is best to scan using the same, clean, dry, finger and the same finger placement—we suggest using your index finger. You can anticipate scores with small variances (30–50 numeric points) between scans, this is statistically acceptable and considered within a tolerable range. Your score may fluctuate day-to-day.
- Yes and no. While measuring antioxidants and carotenoids in the skin isn’t a new concept, Prysm iO surpasses conventional technology and innovation. Backed by over 20 years of Raman-carotenoid research, our technology combines deep expertise with a proprietary, patent-pending process—leveraging cutting-edge AI and machine learning.
- First, patent-pending Prysm iO leverages Spectral Rai technology, which combines hyperspectral absorption with an AI calibration that references Raman technology. The Pharmanex® BioPhotonic Scanner uses Raman Spectroscopy (which Nu Skin has used/studied for over 20 years).
Both utilise two different ways of measuring carotenoid levels, but with Spectral Rai, Prysm iO brings you faster scans, is smaller and lighter, with easy calibration and no leasing. And both are backed by clinically validated supplements proven to increase your score.
- Prysm Certification means that our scientists are confident that this product will raise your skin carotenoid score, as measured by the Prysm iO. Carotenoids are a class of important antioxidants and can come from a variety of sources, including fruits, vegetables, and your supplements. If a product is Prysm Certified, then you can expect that using it will increase your scanner score over time.
