2020 Highlights

In 2019, we committed to assess, score and improve the environmental impact of our top 20 products during 2020 and are pleased to say that not only have we accomplished that task, but we’ve gone even further on our commitment to be responsible stewards of the planet. During 2020 our enhancements to the packaging of our products resulted in 16.5 tons of paper saved and 21 tons of plastic saved from landfills.

We know we have lots more to do, but here are a few highlights we’re proud to share.

Nutricentials® Bioadaptive Skin Care System™

Our new Nutricentials® Bioadaptive Skin Care System™ features bottles made from 100 percent PCR and tubes made with 34-35 percent PCR. Combined, that helps us save an anticipated 57.5 tons of virgin plastic from being produced every year.* Plus, more than 90 percent of our palm ingredients are sustainably sourced, as certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). By purchasing Nutricentials, you’re joining us in taking an active, engaged stride to ensure the future is bright for both the planet and us all.

Epoch®

Our Epoch brand refresh includes some exciting sustainability updates! We repackaged our Epoch Baobab Body Butter in a first-of-its-kind Eco-Pac tube made from sugarcane. Not only does the new tube reduce our carbon footprint by switching to a renewable resource, but it also allowed us to reduce our plastic usage! Thanks to the new Eco-Pac packaging, we’re saving 67 tons of plastic annually* and reducing the carbon emission associated with these products by approximately 80 percent.

We’re also pleased to announce that in 2020 we won nine sustainability awards for our efforts in packaging reductions, clean beauty products,  and zero waste efforts.

Local Outreach

We’re proud of the work we’ve done, but we also know that we can’t do it alone. This year, we became one of the founding members of the Utah Sustainable Business Coalition. The coalition is a growing organization of Business Partners, Community Partners, and Sustainability Practitioners dedicated to advancing sustainable business practices and developing a community of skilled sustainability professionals here in Utah. Our goal is to use our unique positions to lead, impact, network, and collaborate on issues that affect our business and our communities, and the world we live in. We believe that collectively, we can be the change we want to see in the world.
