Metabolic disorder affects gut health, disrupting homeostasis, glucose metabolism, and lipid metabolism.

This can lead to metabolic syndrome or related diseases, creating a vicious cycle.

Abnormal lipid metabolism

Lead to intestinal inflammation, indigestion, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, etc.

Microbial imbalance

Metabolic disorders change the intestinal flora, which can easily cause allergies and affect the immune system

How gut health affects metabolism

Lipid metabolism includes biosynthesis and breakdown of fat such as fatty acid, triglycerides,

and cholesterol. Specialized lipoproteins help transport fat from the gut to the liver

(where most fat is processed) and between the liver and peripheral tissues.

Obesity is correlated to abnormal lipid metabolism, which can result in abnormal blood fat levels,

ectopic fat deposition, and metabolic related diseases such as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

and atherosclerosis.
