"Just the personal development that I have gone through with this company has been incredible,”
All Shurli Massell needed was a painter to paint her aunt’s apartment in the Edmonton, Alberta, Canada area.
What she got was a visit from a future friend and confidant in the Nu Skin business.
“I needed to find a painter so I looked up three of them on the internet to come and give me some estimates,” she said. “The third person that came was the gentleman who became my friend in the business, Brendon Moore.”
Brendon didn’t come just to bid on the painting job, he came prepared with knowledge of the Nu Skin products and what they could do for Shurli.
Brendon introduced Shurli to the Galvanic Spa and after explaining its benefits, the two set up a demo for the next day.
After doing the demo, Shurli noticed a different feel about her face and immediately called her friends and lined them up with demos as well.
But despite her amazement with the product and the visible results, Shurli was not interested in making Nu Skin a job—she wanted only to be just a consumer.
“I made it clear that I was not interested in the business opportunity and I didn’t even want to hear about it,” she said. “I just wanted to be a product user; I wanted to own a Galvanic Spa.”
But it was after learning more about making Nu Skin her business, Shurli figured that it was something she could do.
“I just started sharing it with friends and family,” she said.
Shurli quickly became successful in the Nu Skin business and it was after attending the 2009 North America Kick-Off Meetingsthat she decided to close the doors on her own business and pursue the Nu Skin opportunity.
“I went to the launch of ageLOC in Anaheim, and that is where I saw the big picture,” she said.
Now a full-time Nu Skin distributor and a new Blue Diamond Executive*, Shurli continues to find success while still being able to develop herself personally.
“Just the personal development that I have gone through with this company has been incredible,” she said. “I never could have done this before.”
Shurli says that the best way to find success in this business is to allow yourself to be coachable.
“Be coachable, follow the system, attend all of the meetings and events that your leader tells you to go to,” she added. “That is what I did and that is how I became successful.”
