It was over a box of LifePak that they met. But little did they know, it would become more than just a building block in their quest for health and vitality as the box of LifePak also became the foundation stone on which they built a happy family. The Nu Skin journey that Shen Yan and Harry embarked on is one that goes beyond a regular success story. For it is also a love story.


When Harry met Shen Yan, it was in 2005. The former was introduced LifePak and got referred to Shen Yan to obtain the product. Connecting over common chords, love blossomed and a life together soon followed. However, while Nu Skin brought them together, it also became a discord that got their relationship out of tune. What caused their differences and can they get back in sync?


Migrating to Singapore in 1995, Shen Yan worked in IBM before moving into accountancy and then finding success as a real estate agent. Her encounter with Nu Skin came in 2000 but it wasn’t until fourteen years later that she became a serious business builder. “In real estate, every case I close is singular and there’s no accumulation. With Nu Skin, the network I establish grows exponentially and the rewards, be it the satisfaction of having helped someone or in terms of income, are cumulative,” she shared about her decision to make the switch. Having experienced both sides of the fence – as an employee and a self-employed, the enterprising woman truly appreciated the holistic and more sustainable lifestyle model that Nu Skin has to offer. There was one thing in her way though… Harry.


Despite being a product user, Harry was skeptical about the network marketing business model and the couple couldn’t see eye-to-eye on Shen Yan’s involvement. His turning point came after gaining deeper insights into the company’s culture and products where he uncovered a shared passion with Nu Skin’s vision, that of being a Force For Good. “The amount of effort the company puts into the R&D of its products and the amount of cutting-edge technologies in their formulations are astounding. I realised that Nu Skin is not about selling products but being empowered to transform lives for the better,” Harry shared. From a cynical doubter to becoming an enthusiastic partner, the husband-and-wife team now works hand-in-hand to improve the lives of others. Working towards a common goal also harmonised relationships and effected profound, positive changes for all at home.


For helping them find what they love doing, Shen Yan and Harry are very grateful to their upline, Million Dollar Circle member Alice Hou for being incredibly selfless with her time, energy and support in guiding them. They feel that it couldn’t have happened without great teamwork where the members, even if they are from different lines, contribute and help each other to learn and do better. That is the spirit that this pair of new leaders would like to foster as a way to help more of their business partners score their success with Nu Skin!
