Before joining Nu Skin, Sandy Martinez was a skeptic who did not think network marketing was for him. As the vice president of their family-owned department store, it was his business acuity talking to him. "I used to think that network marketing was a short-term 'get rich quick scheme’,” Sandy admits. “Since that's what I mostly saw in the country.”

While studying in Canada, he was invited to a non-Nu Skin business seminar.  There, Sandy met an old family friend who became very successful. Although this roused his curiosity, he later found out that the business had limitations which made it less lucrative.

Nonetheless, Sandy became interested in multilevel marketing.  When he came across Nu Skin, he instantly became impressed with the stability of the company.  Sandy saw that the efficacy of its products was a company strength he can rely on. “These are the only products that ever had third party validation on their claims and was really doing their scientific homework," Sandy enthused. “I definitely saw myself and my family benefitting from these products, since I'd lost my dad to cancer when I was two.”

Growing up in a family where his mother also took on the role of the father while looking after their business and her six children, Sandy realized that he wanted to have more time with his future family.  And the only company offering such was Nu Skin. Even though he initially thought it would be easy since the market  was already saturated, Sandy still pursued the business with diligence. Looking back at his persistence then, he now says, “The Nu Skin business was a shortcut to what I was looking for— FREEDOM.”

With Nu Skin, he saw the opportunity to work 5-10 years instead of 50 years. He found a vehicle to build wealth through focus and hard work. "Through Nu Skin, I completely paid off a 750,000 peso debt, only within a year of doing the business part time! By the time I was done, I was already enjoying a six figure monthly income. I had no idea that the business can become so big." Sandy has since travelled to several continents and does business in over nine countries.
