Prior to Nu Skin, Theela Balakrisinan was working in the banking and insurance industry. She was introduced to Nu Skin products and business by her upline, C Kogeelathavi Sinniah. As she figured that she had nothing to lose, she decided to give the Nu Skin business opportunity a try. As it turned out, it became one of the best decisions in her life.


"I decided to grab the opportunity and told myself I would need to work very hard. To be honest, there were many times that I wanted to quit. But I told myself no; I have goals, big goals that I wanted to achieve. So I kept going and kept reminding myself why I took this up in the first place. I am glad I did because today, my life has totally changed."


Physically, she is delighted that Nu Skin's Nu Skin's weight management program had helped her reached a healthier weight and this is a great testimony when she is selling products to her customers. But most of all, she is tremendously grateful that her Nu Skin business has helped her regain her confidence. Now she has something that truly belongs to her. For the first time, she feels empowered and it has inspired her to share the benefits of the products and business opportunities to others.


While her Nu Skin journey has its ups and down, Theela stays focused on her goals and refuses to let the obstacles she encountered along the way discourage her. One of her main challenges is dealing with the negative emotions that surface when she faces rejection from her prospects. However, she persevered and began doing a lot of work on herself to be more mentally strong. At the same time, she also developed strong leadership skills which garnered much admiration and respect from her downlines.


"In this business, I realized it is important to control my emotions," she explains. "Whether I feel disappointment, anger, frustration or sadness, the feelings will pass. No matter what happens, I stay consistent and persistent in what I do. I always remind myself not to give up easily."


It definitely took a lot of hard work, commitment and personal growth for Theela to be where she is today, but it was all worth it in the end. Just recently she has achieved the Executive Brand Director title, which is an important milestone for her.


"This is a very big achievement for me," she says. "It's a great feeling to know all the hard work I have put in has helped to change my life for the better. Of course, this is just the beginning because my aim now is to continue motivating my team so that they can work hard to achieve their goals. Thank you, Nu Skin for giving me the opportunity to transform myself!"
