Jasmine was in her car when she received the call informing her of her Circle of Excellence III qualification. She took a moment for the information to sink in. US$10 million dollars is a lot of money, she thought to herself. She was elated. But as she pondered over her achievement and asked herself, “What is the one most important factor that contributed to my success if I were to share it with others?

“I feel I’m unlucky in Nu Skin,” Jasmine declared. For someone who is inside the circle of the direct-selling giant’s top generators of business volume, it is hard to believe that luck wasn’t on her side. “I joined Nu Skin when I was fresh out of college. Back then, people’s understanding of network marketing wasn’t as advanced as it is now so fear of the industry was greater. There was also a lack of experienced mentors and teachers to guide us. We were naive, products were few and many did not last in the business.” Today, Jasmine feels that it is much easier for distributors to find success through Nu Skin. “I built my Nu Skin business three times; first in Taiwan, then in Singapore and Malaysia,” Jasmine’s success in all these markets are testament to the cross-boundary nature of the business opportunity. One can build a presence in one and leverage on the network to open new markets with the company.

Being Malaysian, building the business in her home ground held spelling meaning for Jasmine. “It felt like I was coming home and bringing a great opportunity that can help my fellow Malaysians achieve a better quality of life.” Her initial benchmark when joining the Nu Skin business was to earn RM20,000 and she would be satisfied. Little did she expect that the business would ive her much more than she asked for.

So what is the factor and the ability that everyone possesses that would lead to success in Nu Skin? “It is the ability to control your emotions,” revealed Jasmine. “You have to be able to identify your role and be willing to perform and accept responsibilities of that role. Success starts from the willingness to act from within.”
