There was a time when Derek Bentley spent his days building a real estate company that built and developed specialized homes and business properties. It was during this time that Derek was introduced to a unique opportunity—the Nu Skin opportunity.


But Derek originally had no interest in what Nu Skin had to offer.

“I was building homes and had no interest in the company at all,” Derek said.


But after hitting a rough road in the real estate business, Derek and his wife Claudia knew they needed something different.


‘I just didn’t have time and we were losing business in our real estate quickly,” he said. “We needed something to work.”


Flash forward two years—now, instead of building houses, Derek and Claudia have built a solid, viable Nu Skin business.


 “It has completely changed our lifestyle, everything about what we do,” Derek said. “We knew that there was something very different with this company.”


Derek and his wife became Ruby Executives after deciding to take on the Nu Skin business full-time. And after loads hard work, they were able to attend the March 2010 Blue Diamond Trip as new Blue Diamond Executives.


While the Bentley’s have enjoyed the successes that come along with being a Blue Diamond Executive*, their real love of the Nu Skin opportunity comes from being able to help other people succeed in life and in business.


“In this company, we get to help people all around the world and we get to feel good every day,” Derek said. “I can’t even begin to share with you how that can make you feel when you get to help share that with other people and see their lives change.”


The Bentley’s experience with Nu Skin is built on a foundation of the Nu Skin vision.


“They (Nu Skin) have a global vision to make a difference in mankind around the world,” Derek said. “We knew that we could align ourselves with what they are about.”


The Bentley’s have used their alignment with the Nu Skin vision to catapult them to success and they advise others interested in the opportunity to trust in the Nu Skin leaders to help lift them to success.

 

“Trust that the leaders are asking you to do things that will make you successful,” Derek added. “They are not going to ask you to do anything that is not going to make you more successful.”


Along with trusting leaders, the Bentleys feel that the main thing a Nu Skin distributor needs to find success in this business is a strong desire.


“Have a burning desire to want something good for yourself and for your family,” Derek said. “That is what you need to do this business.”
