Patricia Acosta grew up in Colombia in a humble family, the youngest of seven children. After receiving a degree in business administration, she traveled to the United States to study English and marketing. She then created her own real estate business in California. When Patricia was introduced to Nu Skin, she realized the business could give her the flexibility to visit her family in Colombia frequently. Her “why” has now changed to helping others experience the freedom she enjoys. What really motivated her to build her business as quickly as possible was realizing she could play a role in expanding the company’s growth in its new Colombian market as well as within the rest of Latin America. Patricia worked hard building a consumer base and advanced quickly, and she could see that with consistent effort she could increase her income.

 

As Patricia has built her business, she has learned that leading means setting an example. She conducts three presentations a day, and visits every city where she has a team at least once per month to help her team members duplicate the system she learned from her own leaders. She focuses on her goals and not the obstacles she encounters, believing that adversity is really a problem to be solved, which in turn can make her more successful. Patricia says Nu Skin has enabled her to improve four ways: in her relationships, financially, physically and spiritually. She believes success depends on believing that everything is possible, having a clear goal and an action plan. She serves as a force for good in the world by purchasing and donating VitaMeals as a Nourish the Children Ambassador and urging her team members to do the same. She has also created a charity in Colombia that builds houses for those in need—one is built and four more are in the works.
