Nu Skin continues to receive accolades for its force for good culture. We’ve just learned that Nu Skin received two Communitas Awards – one for excellence in community service and one for excellence in social responsibility. To receive these awards, Nu Skin had to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to helping improve peoples’ lives and show how our efforts benefit our employees, communities and environment.

Nu Skin received the top award in the “Excellence in Community Service” category for its worldwide Force for Good Day events. Every year, Nu Skin employees and distributors around the world participate in meaningful humanitarian service projects in their local communities, while simultaneously celebrating Nu Skin’s rich culture and history.

Nu Skin won the top award in the “Excellence in Social Responsibility” category, demonstrating ethical and environmental responsibility for both its “Seeds of Hope” and “Build a Village” projects in Malawi. The Seeds of Hope project helps protect the supply of natural resources in Malawi by donating a portion of the sales from Baobab Body Butter to help purchase and plant a variety of much-needed trees in Malawi. Last year, Nu Skin distributors had sold enough Epoch Baobab Body Butter to donate and plant more than 100,000 trees in villages in Malawi.

The Build a Village project helps the people of Malawi become self-sufficient by learning advanced agricultural skills. The foundation helped build an actual village where 30 to 40 families live for two years while they are trained in a variety of disciplines. Husbands and wives attend classes together while their children attend school. In 2009, the first class of 33 families graduated from the School of Agriculture for Family Independence (SAFI) at Mtalimanja Village and returned home to implement their new skills and teach them to others.
