NU SKIN SOUTHEAST ASIA CHILDREN’S HEART FUND
In the Southeast Asia region, there are more than 50,000 children suffering from congenital heart disease each year. Congenital heart defect or congenital heart anomaly is a defect in the structure of the heart and great vessels which is present at birth. Heart defects are among the most common birth defects and are the leading cause of birth defect-related deaths. Approximately 9 in 1000 babies are born with a congenital heart defect
The Children’s Heart Fund was started in Thailand in 1999 and was extended to become a regional project for the Nu Skin Southeast Asia region in 2003. Nu Skin Southeast Asia Children's Heart Fund (SEACHF) aims to help less fortunate children with congenital heart disease undergo corrective heart surgery. SEACHF works with local partners to identify and aid children in need of heart surgery. As of August 2017, SEACHF has provided over 9,000 heart surgeries for needy children within the region.
SEACHF is supported by funds from Nu Skin Force For Good Foundation and generous donations from Nu Skin employees and sales leaders. However cost of surgeries is wholly sustained by SEACHF’s unique 1% Commission Donation program whereby distributors choose to donate 1% of their monthly commissions towards SEACHF.
