Success not by bankrolls but by heartbeats has been their modus operandi over the last nine years. And this focus on the human tempo has Jess and Sinarman well-tuned to build depth in their Nu Skin business, enabling their partners and downlines to uncover aspirations and achieve all-round goals on a sustainable level. 


Having made a difficult mid-career switch from engineering to direct selling in 2005, Jess knows how difficult and frightening things can get when venturing into unfamiliar territories. Despite having no experience in the direct sales industry and being unschooled in personal care and nutritional supplementation, they followed their dreams for leverages income and time flexibility and worked hard at growing their knowledge, skillsets and network. “Embracing constant change and evolving strategies are key to stay agile and adaptable for growth in this business,” Jess shared. 


From being aliens to the business to qualifying as Presidential Director members, the couple feels that ascending the pin ranks of Nu Skin is only a matter of time if one stays active and committed in the business. “We have been fighting to become Presidential Director for quite some time. Naturally, we are happy for achieving it but the real thrill is the meaning behind this recognition. Being Presidential Director meant we’ve really helped many people also achieve in their goals in order for us to attain this title,” Jess explained with a joyful timbre. Their achievement created positive vibrations throughout their group with downlines and business partners invigorated to align goals and collaborate with higher synergy.


Jess and Sinarman both agree that the Nu Skin journey is one of endless self-discoveries and a triumph over personal weaknesses. “The business is about victory over your own self. We have encountered many prospects who say they cannot do Nu Skin because of circumstances or people issues. They get paralysed by these perceived obstacles and cannot move. But the real hindrance to taking the first steps is themselves,” Sinarman said in response to the potential of the business and what they have observed about objections commonly encountered. By achieving Presidential Director, the leaders hope to show the self-doubters that achieving their goals can be theirs too.


When it comes to leadership, the duo takes a broad approach by starting small. Jess expounded on the topic further: “We have to first begin with ourselves. We see the growth of our business partners as our responsibility. In order to help them grow, we have to expand our vision to encompass everyone’s aspirations and grow a bigger heart to accommodate differences. We do this by practising unconditional gratefulness, empathy and leading by example.”
