Mary is a distributor of NU SKIN. She heard a successful story shared by an upline called Polly from another team in coincidence. Mary admires Polly’s dedication to NU SKIN business with her great passion and optimistic attitude. Not only does NU SKIN enhance Polly’s quality of life, she also discovers the best her and helps other people to discover the best of them. After listening to Polly’s sharing, Mary thought that Polly and herself share the same values and similar business visions. Therefore, she decides to leave her original team and joins Polly’s immediately…

Mary: Hi, do you have time to talk?
Polly: Sure, what is it?
Mary: I am also a NU SKIN distributor, but I am currently under Jack’s team. After listening to your successful NU SKIN story, I want to join your team and build my business together.
Polly: I see. I suggest you should talk with Jack about your thoughts first. Don’t make any impulsive decision.
Mary: After your sharing, I feel so keen and I want to work my way to the 2017 Success Trip - Hawaii. I cannot wait any longer! I decide to  submit the distributor agreement under my mother’s name and you will be the sponsor so that I can build my business with you.
Polly: Line switching is a forbidden behavior in NU SKIN. We, as honest distributors with integrity, should never do that.
Marry: Why don’t you accept my suggestion?
Polly: Every distributor is a crucial member of the team. I believe that Jack gave you guidance and advice when you first started your business. We should be grateful with our upline.
Mary: True…
Polly: If your downline switched to other team without a word because of the different business vision, I’m sure you would be very sad.
Mary: With all those years of providing cultivation and education, of course I would be sad!
Polly: That’s right! One more reminder, NU SKIN takes the violation of line switch very seriously; severe disciplinary actions will be taken against any line switch violation. Once the violation has been confirmed, no matter what your pin level is, violator will receive a penalty of recouping the commissions, violator and the corresponding downline organization will be moved back to the original team. Do you think line switch is worthy now?
Mary: I get it now. If we want to succeed in NU SKIN, we really have to keep our feet on the ground. Otherwise, all the hard work may come to nothing.
Polly: I’m so glad that you understand now. Let’s meet each other again in Hawaii next year.

Line switching is a prohibited behavior in NU SKIN! Every distributor is a crucial member of the team. Their healthy and sturdy growths depend on the uplines’ deliberate education and guidance. Vice versa, partners’ leaving and staying also affect the operation of the team. Therefore, when recruiting or approaching new partner, please make sure that your prospect is not a current distributor to avoid being misunderstood as enticing line switch. 3.3 Starting a Distributorship under a New Sponsor
(Extracted) When the Company concludes that an inappropriate Sponsor change has occurred or has been solicited, the second-in-time Distributorship may be returned to and be merged with the first-in-time Distributorship and the Company may pursue other remedies listed in Chapter 6.

2 Responsibilities of a Sponsor
2.2 Line Switching
You may not encourage, entice, or otherwise assist another Distributor to transfer to a different Sponsor. To do so constitutes an unwarranted and unreasonable interference with the contractual relationship between the Company and its Distributors. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, offering financial or other tangible incentives for another Distributor to terminate an existing Distributorship and then re-sign under a different Sponsor. You agree that a violation of this rule inflicts irreparable harm on the Company and agree that injunctive relief is an appropriate remedy to prevent that harm. The Company may also impose penalties on any Distributorship that solicits or entices an existing Distributor to change lines of sponsorship.
