Sports Charity Platform – “Olympic Gold Medal Winning 10-year Training Plan” Officially Launched.

December 4, 2015

For years, NU SKIN has spared no efforts to promote and sponsor sporting events. With the recognition and trust of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC), NU SKIN has been sponsoring CTOC to promote various sporting events in the international community and has become the only enterprise who has partnered with CTOC for over 17 years in the industry. In fact, NU SKIN has never stopped sponsoring and supporting outstanding athletes in Taiwan. Chen Shih-hsin, Taiwan’s first Olympic gold medalist and NU SKIN’s former product endorser, has transformed herself from a shining Olympic gold medalist to an exceptional coach to teach underpriviledged students in Hualien area to become world-class athletes. Based on the sports charity platform initiated by the Sports Administration and CTOC, NU SKIN officially launched the “Olympic Gold Medal Winning 10-year Training Plan” this year to support outstanding athletes to step into the international arena so as to become the pride of the Chinese community in the future.

NU SKIN started supporting Chen Shih-hsin with dietary supplements as early as 2003. Through numerous contests both at home and abroad, Chen Shih-hsin gradually came to the fore like a dark horse. At that time, no company ever noticed this shining star who had been working hard quietly, except NU SKIN. Recognizing her potential like a talent scout, NU SKIN sponsored Chen Shih-hsin with dietary supplements and for a long period of time. Ultimately, Chen Shih-hsin won the first gold medal in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games in Taiwan’s 72-year history of the Olympic Games. On the press conference when she returned in glory, Chen Shih-hsin said publicly, “I would like to thank NU SKIN for her long-term support. NU SKIN is the only company who has been supporting and accompanying me since I was unknown to the public.” After making a name for herself, in the face of many opportunities to serve as endorser, Chen Shih-hsin agreed to become NU SKIN’s product endorser from 2004 to 2007 without hesitation.

Today, without being drawn in the glory of gold medalist, Chen Shih-hsin has decided to leave the Taipei metropolitan area and moved to Hualien to train young athletes in remote areas, offering underprivileged adolescents, such as those of new residents and indigenous residents, an opportunity to receive the best training in order to help the new generation fulfill their dreams. “Olympic gold medalist Chen Shih-hsin’s spirit of coaching underprivileged young athletes and passing on her experience in remote countries totally in line with NU SKIN’s concept of Force for Good and “teaching a man to fish”. Together, we will help more young people fulfill their dreams and form an uplifting force in society,” said Charlene Chiang, Regional Vice President of NU SKIN Greater China and President of NU SKIN Taiwan. In the future, NU SKIN will continue to work with Chen Shih-hsin to give hope and “a fishing pole” to our new-generation athletes in order to pass on the spirit of Force for Good and bring our influence into full play so as to make our own contribution to Taiwan’s sports community.
