Nourish The Children — making The Most Of A Meal

December 15, 2021

In 2002, Nu Skin founders set out to help alleviate childhood malnutrition through the Nourish the Children Initiative. Sales leaders, customers, and employees could purchase VitaMeal and then choose to keep it or donate the food to a third-party nonprofit organization specializing in distributing relief to those suffering from malnutrition and famine.

Founder, Steve Lund, says, "I continue to be amazed at how the Nu Skin family comes together to be a force for good throughout the world, helping those in need. We realize that much more still needs to be done to combat malnutrition, and it's our desire to grow this program to benefit even more children."

And grow is precisely what we did. In 2020, Nu Skin proudly announced we'd reached our goal of 700 million meals, thanks, in part to a small change that yielded significant results. To create more opportunities to give, we created a plan that encouraged giving at the most fundamental level—the meal. Moving from a bag model to a meal model allowed donations at new, lower entry points, boosting the number of unique people donating VitaMeal by a whopping 37% in 2020.

We refreshed our recognition, too. Starting with purchasing and donating just 30 meals per calendar month, we're honored to call you our Friend. Repeat those 30 meals for 12 months, and you're our Long-Term Friend.

As always, purchasing a minimum of life-changing 480 meals per month for two consecutive months via personal purchases (you must personally purchase at least 120 meals) or combined purchases of personally sponsored downline makes you an Ambassador. And when you have three personally sponsored Brand Affiliates who meet the criteria to be a new or active Ambassador, you're a Chief Ambassador. But don't stop there! Your meal donations mean so much to us that we recognize both 1- and 5-year Chiefs.

No matter how many meals you purchase and donate, you'll get a whole-hearted thank you—because every meal makes a difference. Every meal is a life-giving gift. We're grateful for the 750 million meals you've already made possible, and we can't wait to see what the future holds.
