With millions of children dying each year from causes related to malnutrition, it is apparent that existing humanitarian efforts are not adequate to address this pressing global problem.

The Solution

The Nourish the Children initiative is Nu Skin’s solution to provide a consistent supply of nourishing food to the world’s most needy children. It enables Nu Skin's sales leaders and customers to contribute to a critical humanitarian need on an ongoing basis. By applying business principles and making the purchase of VitaMeal commissionable, it yields a program that is more likely to be sustainable. Many relief efforts are provided on a one-off basis or through limited-time contracts, while the Nourish the Children initiative has provided a framework to maintain a consistent level of food on a sustainable basis since 2002.

How It works

STEP 1

Highly nutritious VitaMeal is produced in contracted facilities in Malawi, China and the United States.

STEP 3

Charity partners distribute the VitaMeal to those that need it most.

STEP 2

You purchase VitaMeal bags and choose to donate them to an authorised charity partner.

STEP 4

Charity provides a donation receipt, which may be tax deductible.*
Nu Skin provides earned commissions and matching donations.

OUTCOME = MORE THAN 150,000 CHILDREN ARE NOURISHED DAILY, ESCAPE THE CYCLE OF MALNUTRITION AND DEVELOP PROPERLY.

Nourish the Children Foundation Vitameal

The primary charity partner for Nourish the Children is Feed The Children, one of the largest international charities in the United States, which specialises in distributing millions of pounds of food each year to families in more than 60 countries. This charity partner distributes the donated VitaMeal at NO ADDITIONAL COSTS and provides regular reports documenting the receipt of food by those in need.

By PURCHASING & DONATING PRODUCT RATHER THAN CASH, donors know exactly how their contribution is being used and can be assured that their donation is making a difference in the lives of children. In some countries, donors receive a receipt for tax purposes from the charity partner for their in-kind donation of VitaMeal.*
