2015年、楽器を持たないパンクバンド“BiSH”のメンバーとして始動、翌年メジャーデビュー。
2021年に全曲作詞作曲の1stアルバム『THE END』をリリースし、ソロ活動を本格始動する。

アーティスト活動と並行して2022年、日本初上演となるブロードウェイミュージカル「ジャニス」では主演のジャニス・ジョプリン役を演じ、2023年10月には岩井俊二監督映画『キリエのうた』で映画初主演を務め、日本アカデミー賞 新人俳優賞をはじめ、数々の名誉ある賞を受賞。
2024年9月に行われた自身初の日本武道館公演“ENDROLL”のチケットはいずれもSOLDOUTとなった。
12月には台湾にて自身初の海外ワンマン公演の開催、2025年10月には全国9都市を巡るワンマンツアー“革命道中”を完走し、12月には東京ガーデンシアターにてワンマンライブ"nukariari"を成功している。
また、グループ解散後ソロとして初となる“第76回NHK紅白歌合戦”へ出演した。

In 2015, she began her journey as a member of the ""punk band without instruments,"" BiSH, making her major-label debut the following year. In 2021, she launched her solo career in earnest with the release of her first self-written and composed album, THE END. Following BiSH's highly publicized disbandment in June 2023, she has been actively focusing on her solo endeavors.

The track became a massive hit both domestically and internationally, surpassing 1.8 billion total views on social media. It charted on the Billboard JAPAN Hot 100 for 48 consecutive weeks, spent 5 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Animation chart, and topped the Billboard Japan Global Japan Songs excl. Japan chart, among various other achievements (as of June 10).
Parallel to her music career, she has proven her exceptional talent as an actress. In 2022, she starred as Janis Joplin in the first-ever Japanese production of the Broadway musical Janis. In October 2023, she made her feature film debut as the lead in director Shunji Iwai's Kyrie, winning numerous prestigious accolades, including the Newcomer of the Year award at the Japan Academy Film Prize.
Her live performances continue to reach new heights. In September 2024, tickets for her first-ever solo show at the Nippon Budokan, titled ""ENDROLL,"" sold out instantly. This was followed by her first overseas solo concert in Taiwan in December. In October 2025, she successfully completed ""Kakumei Dochu,"" a solo tour spanning nine cities across Japan, and in December, she held a triumphant solo live performance, ""nukariari,"" at the Tokyo Garden Theater.
