Dr. David Bearss, An Expert In Genetics, Joins Board

Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. announced David Bearss, Ph.D., as a new member of the Nu Skin Anti-Aging Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Bearss is an expert in the regulation of gene expression and the role of genes in cell function, and brings more than 15 years of research experience to Nu Skin’s advisory board. 

The advisory board consists of several highly distinguished scientific advisors from top research and academic institutions around the world. These leaders in aging, genetics, developmental biology, dermatology and nutrition offer Nu Skin their knowledge and experience as the company incorporates this exclusive information into its product development.

Dr. Bearss has extensive experience in genetic model systems and small molecule drug development. He has published more than 50 manuscripts and book chapters and has more than 20 patents issued or pending. As a doctoral student he was recognized with the AACR/AFLAC Young Investigator Scholars in Cancer Research Award and the David Carrillo Memorial Fellowship.

Dr. Bearss is currently co-director of the Center for Investigational Therapeutics at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, as well as a research associate professor at the University of Utah. His research focuses on genetic model systems to support small molecule drug development. In 2003, Dr. Bearss founded Montigen Pharmaceuticals, a small-molecule drug discovery and development company and was the company’s chief scientific officer. He subsequently held the same position at SuperGen.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in human biology from Brigham Young University, Dr. Bearss attended the University of Texas, where he earned a Ph.D. in cellular and structural biology.
