In an effort to discover advancements in skin care that
will benefit everyone, Nu Skin has funded to establish the Nu Skin Center
for Dermatological Research, at the Stanford University Medical School
in 1998. Through this exciting venture, the center aids researchers in
finding a cure for a disabling disease, Epidermdysis Bullosa (EB)* and
conducts clinical trials and research involving existing and potential
Nu Skin products. The knowledge we gain from this partnership will enhance
our products well into the future.
* Epidermolysis Bullosa is an often-fatal disease that
affects an estimated 100,000 Americans, mostly children. It occurs when
skin cells don't generate the protein necessary to glue skin together.
The resulting symptoms are blisters and open sores that don't heal and
can cover as much as 75% of the body.
In October of 1999, Nu Skin established the Nu Skin/Pharmanex
Research Institute. Pharmanex, a division of Nu Skin Enterprises, is a
science-based developer and marketer of nutritional supplements. By partnering
with Pharmanex's powerful nutritional research engine, Nu Skin can provide
unique, performance-based products to further differentiate itself in
the marketplace.
